Sadly a sad tale to tell for me. I have indeed had thorough words with myself after my experience here. To set the scene: Me and my pal, smoking cigars, dressed up for the occasion (you know the sort: Old brogues you once wore to that auntie's wedding you can't remember the name of). Firstly, where to park? We haven't got a clue but it's great because you know, it's a strip club. So we park residential round the corner (relevant later into the tale) and walk up to the venue. Great big 7 foot at least Canadian Chap welcomes us, does the usual (ID checks, makes sure you're not drunk as a skunk and twice as smelly) then let's us in. We pay the entry, then go in. Both me and my pal are like, 'so how does this work, do we go to the girls or do they come to us?' Within like literally 1 minute of ordering a beer, two ladies are on our shoulder. To cut out the chatter, essentially, the girls are very good at what they do and somehow I ended up paying £200 for me and £200 for my pal to have an hour dance with champagne... this is the part where I tell you yeah, I can't deny it was worth it. Then after that hour is over and the girl is chatting to me about her plans to hit up Thailand (not in that way), she says times up like. Then she does the whole ' I don't want you to go' so I'm drunk on a new level, order myself another hour dance and my pal 45 minutes. After the rest of this, upon leaving the joint (both thoroughly chair-legged) we can't remember where we've parked the car. We find it, in the residential (here's that relevant part) get in and my pal, who's name shall remain anonymous, is like 'let's go home I'm tired'. By this point I'm drunk enough to want to get into my bed, but not quite drunk enough to consider driving home intoxicated. A Chap knocks on the window and says he saw us leaving the club and If we try to leave were on CCTV right, then my pal... out of completely nowhere tries to drive away in first, absolutely slaughtering the acceleration. Why have we not moved? Oh yeah, that's right. We parked in residential. Clamped. CLAMPED. Really? We walked home with our heads hung in shame and sheer embarrassment and eventually got home 3 hours later. Woke up the next morning with two receipts: one for £400 the other for £340. So yeah. Was a great night I'd say. You should try it.
Had the night of my life coming back from a rough time at uni, girls are hot!

I joined the club at the end of last year as I was getting a little fed up with running alone and needed some motivation. I definitely made the right choice. The members are extremely friendly, always there to offer advice or motivate you. There's a main club night on a Wednesday, but loads of other runs during the week and they're all aimed at different levels. There's also a great online community, with all club events going up as Facebook events. Members share their experiences and problems online and there's always a handful of people there to help you out. I never dreamed that I would ever be part of a running club, but I'm so happy that I found BVR. They'll be my friends for life.
Very friendly running club

A great badminton club! Friendly atmosphere, good standard of play and I definitely think I have improved a lot since going regularly. I am looking forward to mixed league matches next season. I would definitely recommend the club and they are always looking for more players, particularly a few more women to join us! There are also great socials outside of the club nights which are really fun.
Tongham Badminton Club is a friendly, welcoming local club with weekly sessions at Ash Manor Sports Centre on Thursday evenings. I thoroughly enjoy coming along for some friendly matches with no competitive pressure, although the standard allows you to have some good matches! I would encourage any local players to come and give it a go- especially any women as we are always looking for more!
